Analysis of the database architecture with regard to its future suitability
Project duration: 4 days
Brief description
The object of the analysis is a SQL server instance on which approx. 20 databases are operated. Against the background of the expected growth of the data volume and the number of transactions due to the expansion within the business environment, the entire SQL server instance and the databases operated there are assessed with regard to scalability and performance.
Supplement
Essentially, aspects of the overall architecture, the individual data models and the backup/restore strategy are examined. Furthermore, the entire data access layer is examined with regard to the I/O volume and data accesses for superfluous or missing indices are checked. Measures and strategies for a sustainable, scalable instance and database architecture are derived from the results of the overall analysis.
