Analysis of a file server migration

Brief description
As part of the integration into the group IT, the file servers are migrated, which changes the path specifications. The path specifications in all Excel tools used in production and the VBA routines used must be exchanged.
Supplement
The customer uses a number of Excel tools with VBA macros in the specialist departments. The department employees use the tools to obtain the templates from a central location, adapt them if necessary and save them as saved templates. Through integration into a group-wide IT system, all file servers are now migrated and the path structure is changed. All path specifications, some of which are hardwired in the Excel files, must be adapted both in the VBA code and in the Excel tables for the migration. As part of the as-is analysis, the tools were examined, adjustment requirements determined and a procedure developed for an automated changeover.
Subject description
The Excel tools examined are used at the site for a wide variety of purposes. These tools are mainly used in quality assurance for the recording of test and acceptance protocols, logistics and controlling.
