Brief description
In order to establish a data hub, the first step is to evaluate existing market ready Data Catalog systems for the customer. The investigation will evluate the suitability of various application suites and be used to build up initial know-how in preparation for a subsequent initialization phase for the introduction of the Data Catalog.
Supplement
The customer's freedom of choice between cloud services, on-premise or hybrid solutions will be deliberately kept during the investigation. In addition to the data catalog proper as a building block of comprehensive data governance, other software components are also under investigation, such as data preparation, data quality and data privacy tools, which can be found in the products of well-known manufacturers such as Informatica, Talend Software or Collibra. PTA provides the customer with the necessary information to make the upcoming decisions in line with the customer's future data strategy.
Subject description
The introduction of data management software is about creating rules and structures to be able to deal efficiently with company data. The software solutions to be investigated should help the customer to improve his data management. The initial focus is on aspects of data quality, both formally and in terms of content, especially for geodata and time series. For example, rules for necessary data corrections should be recordable and then automatically implemented in checking routines. Furthermore, the possibilities of reporting and support for the tasks of the newly created roles of data steward and data officer are to be investigated.
