Scrum support in the development of web-based administration software
Project duration: 1 year
Brief description
The customer’s project is in the area of digitizing business processes and involves the development of web-based administration software coupled to already existing customer applications. PTA supports the project providing two a scrum master to assist in the application of agile cooperation methods. In that context PTA generates proceedings to monitor, analyse and visualize team collaboration and product development which in turn provide the empirical basis for improved production planning as well as steering team efficiency and cooperation in a customer-desired direction. Moreover, end customers are included stronger in the development process thus increasing customer satisfaction. Additionally PTA is increasingly involved in quality assurance conducting tasks of software testing.
Supplement
Software development involves both front and back end tasks employing JAVA, Angular, Spring Boot, SQL Server as well as a BPM engine (Camunda) for workflow control and automation. For Scrum master activities JIRA, Confluence, Excel, are used as well as Powerpoint and Scopia for end customer presentation.
Subject description
The project continues the previously established collaboration in applying agile methods, adapting them to changed project conditions. On one hand team composition is new, team size is smaller and more stable with fluctuations in personnel no longer occurring. On the other hand working focus is shifted towards completion and optimization of the applications under development after a basic level of product maturity was reached in the previous project. Beyond that analysis and visualization of team-relevant data remain central to optimize cooperation and transparency. Given the smaller team size individual needs of team members can be answered more directly. In stakeholder communication frequent stand-ins for the product owner occur, whereas PTA’s involvement in software testing is extended further.
