Data management and modelling for reporting purposes in the Business Intelligence (BI) environment
Project duration: 7 months
Brief description
With a multitude of complex ELT processes (Extract, Load, Transform) data from different IT systems (so-called source systems) are integrated into the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDWH) for reporting purposes. The data is modelled and prepared for evaluation purposes within the framework of standard reporting and made available to various departments via BI front-ends. The PTA supports both data management and integration as well as data modeling and reporting.
Supplement
In terms of (E)xtract, (L)oad and (T)ransform, data from different IT systems are linked/integrated with the ETL/ELT tool Oracle Data Integrator and transferred to the central data warehouse (DWH). Within the framework of the SAP BusinessObjects Platform, the data is made available to the business departments in the form of so-called universes (data models) using the SAP Information Design Tool and/or SAP Universe Design Tool. The universes allow different views of the data and enable users to create department-specific reports.
Subject description
A central reporting system in the sense of Business Intelligence enables companies to analyze, monitor and, if necessary, optimize business processes. This includes aspects such as reducing costs, reducing risks and improving value creation.
