Extension of a web application for the administration of tariff bases of a private health insurance
Project duration: 7 months
Brief description
An existing web application for the administration of life insurance tariff data will be supplemented by private health insurance data. Input masks, data validations and export functions must be created for this. The system is used by the specialist department to manage all the data required by the private health insurance calculation kernel for calculating insurance premiums and other processes such as premium refunds.
Supplement
The web application is deployed in the AWS cloud and can be operated there by the user via a browser. The application is written in Java and is developed using Eclipse and Maven. The application itself is deployed to a Websphere Liberty Application Server. The tasks of PTA consist in the design and implementation of input masks as well as the associated data validation. A framework developed by the customer is used for this purpose. The managed data must be exported from the system for use in the calculation kernel. The functions required for this have to perform complex calculations and transformations in order to bring the managed data into the format required by the computing kernel. Particular attention must be paid to performance, since all processes must be completed in a maximum of one minute due to system specifications.
Subject description
Basic data specified by the specialist department is required for the calculation of private health insurance premiums and other processes such as premium refunds, tariff changes or the calculation of premium adjustments. This data is to be managed independently by the specialist department in a modern and convenient application. IT can then export this data in a format suitable for the calculation core, since a direct connection between the administration system and the calculation core is not possible.
