Data synchronization between two knowledgebase management systems
Project duration: 6 months
Brief description
The project includes the extension of data synchronization between two knowledgebase management systems. The data synchronization is switched from unidirectional to bidirectional to ensure that the data is correct and up to date. One system consists of an access application, the other one is web-based. The access application hereby acts as a data source of important interfaces. Both systems are based on differing business logic and use different databases (Oracle and MySQL). The knowledgebase systems manage resembling data structures which are synchronized regularly.
Supplement
A component of the project is an upgrade of the Oracle database version 9i to 12c. This includes the data migration of the Oracle data as well as the adaption of the complete infrastructure of the MySQL-based knowledgebase management system due to the Oracle 12c database requirements. The infrastructure adaption includes the version upgrade of the components Linux, Apache, PHP, MySql and OCI. Additionally code changes are applied and a complete functionality test of post systems is executed.
