Migration of an ETL line to determine CO2 emissions in CEP logistics
Project duration: 2 months
Brief description
The goal of the project is the conversion of an ETL line (extraction, transformation, loading) to determine CO2 emissions on the basis of the Oracle Data Integrator and the PTV xServer (xRoute). The replacement of the old system considers the following aspects: Improvement of the accuracy of the CO2 emission calculation by using the HBEFA 3.1 standard and current vehicle profiles on the basis of the Euro 6 emission standard; encapsulation of the business logic in procedures; conversion to the asynchronous, RESTful API of the PTV xServer; runtime optimization of the ETL route by parallelization of the API requests.
Subject description
The Handbook Emission Factors for Road Transport (HBEFA) provides emission factors for all current vehicle categories (PC, LDV, HGV, urban buses, coaches and motor cycles), each divided into different categories, for a wide variety of traffic situations. Emission factors for all regulated and the most important non-regulated pollutants as well as fuel consumption and CO2 are included. (Source: http://www.hbefa.net/e/index.html)
