Proof of Concept for integrated voice documentation and voice control
Project duration: 3 months
Brief description
The Proof of Concept (PoC) will test the feasibility of introducing a speech assistant or speech recognition software that can be integrated into the existing iCollect software or the field service hardware. The question is which solutions are possible taking into account the existing system environment.
Supplement
The epics (EP) were: EP01 – Evaluation of a speech recognition software in the environment of tablet PCs with Windows 8.1/10, no cloud use, mostly offline. EP02 – Documentation Program code iCollect (C#-WPF Individual Application) with special attention to data transfer functionality. EP03 – Speech-To-Text Use for recording field service reports/documentation of the solutions in question. EP04 – Prototyping: PT1 – iCollect + Chant SpeechKit8 + Dragon NaturallySpeaking Individual 15; PT2 – iCollect + Dragon Client SDK 14 + Dragon NaturallySpeaking Group 14.
Subject description
The sales representatives of a leading financial service provider use tablet PCs with individual software installed on them to plan and record customer appointments, including the preparation of final reports. The use of speech recognition software to control the mobile devices and the targeted application extension to include an integrated component for control and dictation via speech is intended to make users' work more attractive and easier. For example, a BT headset can be used to conveniently dictate final reports while the device is in the front passenger seat. The text can also be edited by voice and entered texts can be played back if necessary by request. Furthermore, it should be possible to start and operate your e-mail client as well as to open other applications such as text processing software etc. or web browser and to switch back and forth between the various applications.
