An existing SAP Solution Manager 7.1 system landscape with ITSM processes (IT Service Management) is updated to version 7.2. The release upgrade is mandatory because support for Release 7.1 has expired.

The customer operates a 3 system landscape for Solution Manager and has been using the functions for years: Project and solution management, incident management, change and transport management as well as test management. In addition to the technical upgrade, the PTA also carries out the functional upgrade of these functions. The SAP standard tools are used for the technical and business upgrade.
Subject description
The SAP Solution Manager is used as a central tool for Application LifeCycle Management in the existing SAP system landscape. A total of 5 productive SAP systems (Retail, CRM, EWM, BW, CAR) are supported by the Solution Manager. The Solution Manager also has a link to another central incident management tool and serves as an interface between SAP and non-SAP systems. After a successful technical upgrade, the existing processes must be adapted to the new release and, if necessary, new processes must be implemented. There is also an increased need for training of the customer's employees.
