An existing BPM application is replaced by a SharePoint 2010 solution. The legacy application covers two business processes. The task is to analyze the existing application, to optimize and improve the processes to be mapped and the usability of forms, and to perform the functional design and technical implementation on the basis of SharePoint 2010. The challenge here is the interplay between SharePoint Features and integrated application pages.
Supplement
The application is created as a standalone web application and it is hosted on a SharePoint 2010 installation. Master data are provided from a third-party system (Oracle DB). User interaction is browser-based and takes place via the defined SharePoint pages. Business processes are coordinated by the Nintex Workflow 2010 component. The input screens for the business processes are SharePoint Application Pages (ASPX pages). The data from the processes and forms are stored exclusively in SharePoint lists and document libraries. The processes are documented by reporting and document management.
Subject description
In the funds area, processes are carried out for regrouping on the basis of asset classes and for selecting funds within asset classes. Two of the key processes, asset allocation and fund swaps, are to be supported by a workflow-based application based on SharePoint. The aim is to document information for all processes, with all the relevant information for tracing decisions, monitoring operational risk and coordinating the groups and persons involved. In addition, the aim is to improve usability and performance and to streamline the mapping of business processes compared to the previous implementation based on Tibco.
