Introducing a software development process for device drivers for medical analyzer
Project duration: 5 months
Brief description
The project involves introducing a new software development process for developing device drives to connect medical analyzer to the laboratory information system that the customer markets. PTA provides consulting support for every aspect of transferring the group-wide standard development process to the customer's specific circumstances, as well as on adaptations to the standard process.
Supplement
Targeted workshops determine both the actual status of driver development and the requirements for the new software development process. PTA uses this information to refine the customer's standard development process. The individual process steps and responsibilities, associated tasks and documentation of those tasks are specified and a project manual is compiled together with all the necessary document templates. The development process is transferred to existing ALM tools that are adapted accordingly to the process steps. PTA defines a versioning and release strategy and a representative branching concept is introduced in the source code management. In addition to adapting the previous test strategy, PTA determines generally applicable requirements for the device drivers and creates the relevant regression tests. After introducing the process, PTA plans support for user training and training documentation.
Subject description
In medical diagnostics, a variety of different analytical devices are used and these can communicate with a laboratory information system in the interests of data management. Device-specific drivers are required to connect the analysis equipment to a laboratory information system. The development of these drivers is clearly defined by the newly introduced software development process.
