Project goals: Adaptation of standard software for inventory and warehouse management from a third-party provider to the customer requirements in terms of functional enhancement, recognition value and improved user friendliness. This applies both to Desktop variants of the software and also a variant for mobile barcode scanners (handheld devices).
Supplement
The ongoing project is based on an initial usability evaluation of the software in an early project phase that is also supported by PTA. The revision proposals are discussed with stakeholders at the start of project adoption based on mockups created in Balsamiq, and then transferred to a third-party provider in a comprehensive PowerPoint documentation. Another usability evaluation of the revised user interface is currently planned in the project. The revised version of the Desktop variant of the software is available for evaluation. The mobile variant is evaluated using an interactive software prototype created in Axure
Subject description
A comprehensive user-centered design process to ensure products that are user-friendly and safe to use requires the performance on a regular basis of usability evaluations over the various phases of the project. In this connection, it is indispensable to integrate future users and take into account the use context.
