Migration of the data processing software of a medical analysis device
Project duration: 1 year, 5 months
Brief description
The objective of the project is the migration of an existing data processing software for a medical analysis device from Windows Server 2003 and Oracle 10g to Windows Server 2008 and Oracle 11g. In addition, a new server generation is to be supported. This project includes the definition and support for migration of existing installations with customers. Interruption of operations should be as short as possible.
Supplement
The development process follows agile use of SCRUM. The software for supporting migration of existing installations is programmed in C# .NET. To operate the data processing software in the new environment, adjustments to the business logic are required. This is developed in PL/SQL and runs on the Oracle database. The new Windows version means that various adjustments are required to harden the server.
Subject description
The system is designed for a high throughput and covers up to 15 million tests per annum. Device software and data processing system are separated from each other. The data processing system assumes the control and master functions and can be operated from any location. The data processing system provides secure access to remote maintenance and a module for automatic update to the device and data processing software. It also supports the evaluation of analysis results using a quality control module, archiving of audit-relevant data and system backup and restore.
