Subject of this project is the current implementation of Active Position Manager, a subsystem of OpenLink's industry standard software Endur, which is used to assess and steer positions and position movements. Target of the project is on the one hand cleaning-up the existing APM installation in order to eliminate present redundancies und superfluous calculations while on the other hand the current configuration is also enhanced to accommodate new requirements.
Supplement
In order to clean-up the APM configuration performance-burdening components without any recognisable benefit – identified by a preceeding intensive system analysis – are deactivated. Once this is done ongoing unrestrained system performance is ensured through comprehensive regression testing. Above this the present system is also enhanced to accommodate new functions and to satisfy recent requirements to embody an even more effective assessment and steering tool. The calculative overhead generated by these enhancements occupies the ressource vacancies the clean-up actions have brought to the overall system so that a substantial benefit in APM is achieved whereas hardware employment stays consistent.
