Further development of the WiM processes (change processes in measurement)

Project duration: 2 years, 9 months

Brief description

The further development of the WiM process (change processes in measurement) applies to the customer-specific requirements regarding their own perception of the process. Apart from commencing metering point operation and the associated sub-processes, this also involves mapping the correct process specifications during the metering point operation and at the end of the metering point operation.

Supplement

The customer's master data application is based on a three-layer, service-oriented architecture (.Net-based thin client, application server, MS SQL 2008). The business processes are integrated into the master data application taking the specified deadlines into account. The messages are processed via an existing EDI archive, which converts the EDIFACT messages, which are contained in e-mail attachments, into an XML format, and passes them to the master data application for further processing. When messages are sent, XML files generated by the master data application are imported from the BizTalk server, converted to the EDIFACT format and transferred to the EDI archive. The EDI archive uses this to generate e-mails, which are transferred to an e-mail server. Communication between the BizTalk server and the EDI archive is via web methods. Development is performed in C# based on the .Net 3.5 framework. The current EDIFACT standards, valid on 01.04.2012 (01.10.2012), are implemented.

Subject description

With the WiM processes (change processes in measurement), the Federal Network Agency (BNetzA) has created reliable framework conditions that are compatible with high-volume business for those involved in carrying out metrology. The resolution published on 01.04.2011 must be implemented by the market participants involved. The standardization of business processes and contracts enables rapid and efficient cooperation between network operators, measurement service providers (MDL), and metering point operators (MSB) for the operation of metering points and for the gathering, processing, and distribution of the relevant measurement information. The processes relevant and necessary to the customer in his role as MSB and MDL are mapped in the master data system and further developed according to the changing market requirements (EDIFACT) and according to his own internal specifications for the harmonization of the internal processes. An key topic is the execution of the sub-process of device purchasing and sales.
