Integration of metering point operation in the master data system
Project duration: 1 year, 9 months
Brief description
In this project, the business processes and contractual structures needed to map metering point operation are analyzed and integrated in the existing master data system. The findings expected from the German Federal Network Agency on April 1, 2011, are taken into account, on the basis of available information.
Supplement
The customer's master data application is based on a three-layer, service-oriented architecture (.Net-based thin client, application server, MS SQL 2008). The business processes for the changing processes in metering are integrated into the master application in the existing system. To do this, new contract types are introduced and linked to the supply contracts with the help of enhanced data structures. Other processes that are affected include contract adjustments, contract extensions, recording technical devices (e.g. transformers) and settling metering point operation, which are taken into account in both the advance payment calculation and in the customer settlement. Furthermore, the internal system connected via interfaces are supplied with the data each needs regarding metering point operation.
Subject description
In order to open up the metering market, the German Federal Network Agency (BNetzA) intends to create WiM processes (changing processes in metering). These will create reliable framework conditions that are suitable for bulk business for the actors involved in processing metering. The decision is to be announced on April 1, 2011 and has to be implemented by the relevant market participants by October 1, 2011. With the opening up of the metering market, it is already possible for the customer to carry out metering point operation for the consumers it supplies with power (electricity/Germany), independently of the WiM processes. The customer performs the roles of metering point operator and metering service provider. To enable the customer to take over metering point operation, the master data application is enhanced accordingly. In the follow-up project (Implementation of WiM processes), the WiM processes are implemented with the help of the EDIFACT message format.
