Team Foundation Server migration from version 2008 to 2010
Project duration: 2 months
Brief description
Replacement of TFS 2008 by TFS 2010 with simultaneous migration to a new physical server in the existing SAN system. All team projects in a collection of team projects are migrated from a 32-bit server to a 64-bit server using the TfsConfig tool, and then they are reactivated for operation. The build process for the largest team projects in the collection is outsourced to a new client.
Supplement
Analysis of the existing infrastructure. There are 14 team projects with varying scopes, all of which are to be migrated from a Team Foundation Server 2008 (32bit server) to a Team Foundation Server 2010 (64bit server). The available connection between the TFS and the TOPdesk tool is restored. The build process for the master data application is relocated to a separate client and adjusted to the new templates. Furthermore, the build processes for two other team projects are also modified. Finally, the reporting services and SharePoint web applications are set up for the TFS 2010.
