Implementation of process optimization in handling broker commissions
Project duration: 11 months
Brief description
Implementation of adjustments to a current account system for settling broker commissions.
Supplement
The adjustments are implemented on the basis of the functional and technical conceptual design developed previously (see project ID 2750). From a technical perspective, the broker current account system consists of a batch application and online dialogs. These latter are implemented as Java server pages, which access the database via web services with XCobol modules. Data is stored in a DB2 database. The batch application is also implemented in XCobol. The information from batch processing that is needed for the internal control system is provided in the form of lists in the host system. In addition to the existing certification from the broker current account, the broker receives further information regarding expected payments via extranet.
Subject description
Previously, commissions were settled, regardless of the effective date, at the end of the current month and paid out to the broker. Now, the settlement and payment take place at the same time as the effective date for an inventory change; i.e. settlement is at the end of the month containing the effective date and payment is at the start of the following month.
