Further development of a data processing system for a medical analysis system

Brief description
The goal of the project is to further develop a data processing system for a medical analysis device. This ensures the connection from the device to a laboratory information system and to the customer's remote administration support.
Supplement
The application is programmed using XML configuration files for the description of the user interface. The functional logic is stored in PL/SQL procedures in an Oracle database. New software components such as the archiving module are implemented in C#. During the project, the software development processes is converted to agile development with SCRUM. The entire development environment is also converted to Visual Studio 10 and Team Foundation Server.
Subject description
The system is designed for a high throughput and covers up to 15 million tests per annum. Device software and data processing system are separated from each other. The data processing system assumes the control and master functions and can be operated from any location. Among other things, the system supports automatic Web-based configuration of in-house devices, provides secure access for remote maintenance, supports the evaluation of analysis results using a quality control module, the archiving of audit-relevant data, and the system backup. The system also enable the semi-automatic update of the software and the test configurations and the target values of the reagents.
