An initial version of a new transport and logistics system is introduced; this system is based on a framework developed previously (web and backend). The main functions are order creation and processing as well as the internal data exchange.
Supplement
The order processing is developed according to a coexistence approach. Therefore, it should be possible to use the existing Cobol dialog system to further process all orders recorded and processed in the new system. Special attention is given to fast order entry for various order types and origin types. Sophisticated keyboard control and configurable dialog process control are implemented in order to optimize entry. The project is completed iteratively using a scenario-oriented procedure. The technical processes result in so-called screenplays, in which various variants of the processes are documented. These in turn comprise a large number of scenarios. In workshops, development requirements are derived from the scenarios. These requirements regarding dialog, batch, and interface functions are processed conceptually and are the basis for planning an iteration.
Subject description
Modular standard software is developed for logistics companies, especially forwarding agencies. It offers all the functions required for processing, planning and settling national, international, and inter-modal transportation, from pick-up scheduling to the delivery at the recipient. EuroMistral Road also contains a series of communication processes, a dedicated monitoring system centered on seamless shipment tracking and tracing, functions of internal service settlement, evaluation processes updated daily for monitoring expenses and earnings, and comprehensive information for downstream MIS or data warehouse. The range of functions is completed with a system for quality assurance and monitoring of runtime, and procedures for internal revision and sales. Euro Mistral Road supports all areas of national and international land transport in combination with inter-modal connections.
