SAP Retail: changeover to single-stage relocation method
Project duration: 6 months
Brief description
In order to relocate logistical distribution centers in branches to SAP Retail, a two-stage relocation was implemented in the introduction project. This solution is to be replaced by changing over to a single stage method, thereby optimizing the business process.
Supplement
The previous method of two-stage relocation is designed so that stock removals from the logistical distribution center are first posted to stock in transit. Only once the goods are physically received in the branch is the movement into stock posted and then moved out of the stock in transit. Postponements can result in negative stocks, which have to be cleared by means of postings via a pseudo storage location.
Subject description
The new solution should avoid the stock in transit because this and the pseudo storage location have to be monitored and cleaned up. In single-stage stock transfer, the goods issue from the logistical distribution center is used to post a goods receipt in the branch enterprise resource planning systems by means of ALE/IDoc. This also results in a series of other change requests regarding the business processes and the stock valuations.
