SAP BW: evaluating product documentation systems

Brief description
Implementation of an evaluation option for design change requests, using data from a product documentation system.
Supplement
The data is delivered from the participating systems by flat file, loaded to the BI staging area, and updated to four DSO objects and multiple info objects. Two generic data sources based on a function module are used to format the data for the evaluation of the design change or product document. The entire loading process is automated by means of process chains and an automatic correction of the data supplied (removing extra line breaks in text fields, converting the data from ASCII to Unicode) is implemented.
Subject description
The data selected from the respective system is enriched with data from a product documentation system, among other data. An option is created for evaluating the more comprehensive product document data independently of the design change data.
