Initiative plants 1,285 trees in Saxony – young people strengthen digital skills
In keeping with tradition, the PTA Group is once again donating to two charitable projects this Christmas. Once again, PTA is donating to PRIMAKLIMA, this time supporting a tree-planting campaign in Saxony. The second donation goes to the Hacker School, which promotes digital skills among young people across Germany in order to drive the development of the next generation of technology talent.
Nature and climate protection concerns us all
PRIMAKLIMA is a non-profit organization that has been committed to nature and climate protection for over 30 years: In order to protect life on earth and preserve biodiversity, PRIMAKLIMA plants trees worldwide and protects existing forests. Over the last few years, the non-profit organization has planted over 16 million trees through many planting campaigns and projects – a remarkable number and it is growing every year. With this year’s Christmas donation, the PTA Group is ensuring that a further 1,285 trees can be planted in Saxony as part of a planting campaign by the climate protectors.
“We are delighted that our donation is making a valuable contribution to the establishment of a climate-resistant mixed forest in Saxony,” says Matthias Wossidlo, Managing Director of PTA IT-Beratung. “As climate change progresses, it is important that we all contribute to protecting our environment and preserving biodiversity.” Over time, the planted trees will grow into climate-stable forests and thus contribute to sustainable development for both nature and local people.
Sustainability – the key issue for a future worth living
Climate change, resource scarcity, habitat destruction and environmental pollution are just some of the major challenges facing humanity. It is high time to actively commit to a sustainable future in which the health of our planet is closely linked to the well-being of humanity. This is precisely the motivation behind PRIMAKLIMA’s forest projects, which make an important contribution to environmental and climate protection. But forests have many other positive effects – they don’t just protect our climate. Healthy forests create new habitats for animals and plants, improve air and soil quality and protect against drought and flooding. Trees convert carbon dioxide (CO2) into bound carbon and oxygen. In this way, afforestation and forests effectively protect the climate – good reasons for the PTA Group to continue to actively support this important project.
Digital competence – a real game changer
Artificial intelligence, digital factories, electromobility, micro- and nanotechnology – all of these are key technologies that are also decisive for Germany as a sustainable and future-proof business location. And none of them can do without information technology and well-trained IT specialists. IT service providers and IT consultancies such as PTA agree that well-trained IT specialists are of central importance – which is why the PTA Group has decided to make a second Christmas donation to the nationwide Hacker School.
Non-profit for digital education
The Hacker School has been inspiring young people with programming and information technology for ten years now – and we want to keep it that way in the future. The PTA’s Christmas donation will help to maintain this important educational mission. Because with this donation, the Hacker School is making programming, future skills, AI competence and IT career orientation possible for the next generation. With the donations, the Hacker School can continue to coordinate all inspirers and companies, organize courses at schools, purchase IT and hardware and further develop course concepts.
The PTA Group wishes everyone a Merry Christmas 2024, a peaceful festive season and all the best for 2025!
