Implementation of an application for determining whether used machinery is eligible for guarantee.

The application is implemented as a mainframe application. All the programs are written in PL/1. The user interfaces consist of 3270 screens created with SDF II. Data is stored in a DB2 database.
Subject description
Used machinery can be sold more easily and, possibly, under better conditions if the sale is accompanied by warranties from the manufacturer. Whether a used machine can be sold with a manufacturer's warranty depends on specific prerequisites. In order to design these flexibly, it is necessary to have an appropriate software system that is able to individually determine the conditions for the manufacturer's warranty for each used machine. Online dialogs can be used to manage the manufacturer's warranty characteristics.
