Data consistency check in a distributed system in the context of Dynamics 365 CRM
Brief description
To avoid data inconsistencies in the Dynamics 365 Sales system in the area of end customer marketing, a functionality is provided that performs an automated data consistency check and initiates data corrections if necessary. The connected systems are master systems for all data collected in the CRM system. To comply with the GDPR, it is essential to ensure data consistency between the source systems and the data in the Dynamics 365 Sales system. Marketing campaigns can thus be successfully carried out in the Dynamics 365 Sales System.
Supplement
A console programme is implemented that queries the relevant data in the source systems and compares it with the existing data in the Dynamics 365 Sales system. The source system environments provide RESTful web services that the console programme uses to query the data. The console programme reads and compares the existing relevant data in the Dynamics 365 Sales system and corrects it if necessary, looking at both individual data attributes of a data record and the total number of data records. The results of the check are output in detail in log files so that deviations can also be analysed with a view to improving the existing interface functionalities.
Subject description
The customer requires consistent data for communication with their end customers. This means that email marketing campaigns must not be based on outdated data in order to avoid violating the GDPR requirements. The consistency check ensures that all systems have the same level of data. Marketing campaigns can therefore be successfully carried out from the Dynamics 365 Sales system.
