Nourishment for the hospital staff

PTA Advent donation 2020 in full swing nationwide

Christmas time is donation time – and the starting signal for the annual Advent donation has also been given at the management consultancy PTA GmbH, headquartered in Mannheim. For several years now, the PTA team has been distributing Advent donations to charitable organizations or social services at all locations nationwide instead of giving gifts to customers and business partners as before. This has now become a cherished tradition, as part of which the entire PTA group has also come up with something extraordinary in this exceptional year.

Due to the current coronavirus pandemic, the entire PTA Group has decided to provide the staff of hospitals, care facilities and retirement homes across Germany with plenty of Christmas treats. At the height of the second coronavirus wave, a large proportion of hospital staff are currently working at the limits of their capacity. Many complain about hundreds of hours of overtime, double shifts and are often understaffed. And yet there is no sign of the much-cited coronavirus fatigue in these facilities. Doctors, nurses and carers do their utmost every day to help, care for and ensure the well-being of their patients.

For this reason, the PTA group decided this year to say thank you with a small Advent donation in the form of gingerbread, Christmas cookies, sweets and chocolate and to give the nursing staff a good load of nourishment in this exceptionally stressful situation. “In the tense coronavirus situation and in the midst of the second wave, we want to say thank you to the many doctors, nurses and carers,” says Dr. Tim Walleyo. “Our entire team is delighted to be able to provide at least a small ray of hope with our sweets during this difficult time and generate the attention that the hospital staff undoubtedly deserve on a daily basis,” said Dr. Tim Walleyo, Managing Director of PTA GmbH, commenting on the circumstances under which this year’s fundraising campaign came about.

The response, like the joy, is great when the PTA employees turn up with their Christmas delivery. In the Mannheim region, for example, they have already been able to donate some treats to the staff at Mannheim University Hospital, Heidelberg Children’s Hospital and Heilig-Geist Hospital in Bensheim. But the far north has not been idle either. In Hamburg, the doctors, nurses and carers at the Paracelsus Clinic in Henstedt-Ulzburg and the Hospital zum Heiligen Geist retirement home enjoyed Christmas cookies and gingerbread. In the meantime, the staff at the Cologne Children’s Hospital and Darmstadt Hospital have done the same. And, of course, the supply of all kinds of sweets in the Vinzenz von Paul clinics and the Marienhospital, both located in Stuttgart, was also ensured in the Ländle. The last stop for the PTA Advent donation for the time being was the Klinikum rechts der Isar of the Technical University of Munich. But the journey continues throughout the Advent season.

ESG reporting must meet these standards

The preparation of legally compliant sustainability reporting is often more complex than many company managers assume. A survey that we conducted together with the data specialists at Statista confirms this theory.
